My dearest gentle reader (can you tell what Iโve been watching recently ๐). Spring is upon us here in the UK and oh how magnificent it is, to have longer days and the sun touching our back. I love it.
Today I wanted to touch on two silent but weighty emotions that have sat heavy with me ever since giving birth to my daughter and a sure fire way to banish them quickly.
โ
So let's get into it: Fear and worry. Iโve never been a particularly fearful person, yes Iโve had my fair share of worry an anxious moments and seasons. However this level of fear and worry is very new to me.
Bringing a person into the world is no joke and the level of fear it has instilled in me I was not expecting or prepared for. I worry about her future and what the world will look like.
It seems to be everywhere in our world right now all this chaos and fear. The wars happening, leaders in power doing crazy things, the divide between people and the imminent AI takeover that seems to be upon us. If you were to watch the news daily (which I make a point not too) it would seem like we live in very crazy and fearful times.
Yes we can focus on and find things to be fearful of yet alas, there is so much to have faith about too. The world still remains a wonder and a beautiful place to be. We have breath in our lungs and our hearts continue to beat so we are blessed in unimaginable ways.
Today I want to share a beautiful practice with you that I believe is a game changer for a better world. Gratitude.
As Tony Robbins says โyou cannot be grateful and fearful at the same time.โ
I think having gratitude in your heart and soul is one of the most powerful ways to reframe your life to live in a better, more blissful state. As my level of fear and worry has increased loads in the last few months, I have been coming back to this practice time and time again.
With that in mind I want to invite you to try a challenge with me.
The 7-Day Gratitude Challenge
For the next 7 days, write down 5 things you're grateful for each day. Big or small, it doesn't matter. Your health, your home, your children, running water, heat. The sun. The fact that you're alive and reading this right now. Moments of peace. A kind word from a friend. A warm cup of tea.
Don't just list them quickly and move on. Really feel them. Think of specific moments you're grateful for and let yourself experience them again as if you're living them right now.
Notice how your body feels when you do this. Notice that while you're thinking about what you're grateful for, you're not stressing about anything. That shift is everything.
After 7 days, check in with yourself and see how you feel. If it's working, keep going. The more you focus on what you can be grateful for, the more you'll find to be grateful for. It's a practice that compounds just like money does.
โBe thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enoughโ

This Week, Get Grateful
No matter what is happening in your life right now, no matter how bad it looks, if you're alive and reading this you have things you can be grateful for. It's your job to find them. (Your body will thank you for this practice also. It gives it a bit of rest bite from constantly being in a state of fear and anxiety!)
So go forth this week, get acquainted with gratitude, and fill yourself up with all the wonderful things, people, and moments in your life.
With love and much gratitude for you, my reader,
๐ Emma
P.S. After you finish your 7 days, hit reply and let me know how it went. I read every response and I genuinely want to know if this shifts anything for you.
